Colin immediately assumed Adley's left flank, walking just behind and to the side. Leaning in, he whispered just low enough for Adley to hear, "You are tense. It's not my place to pry, but is there something that bothers you about the agreement you made?"

Beatrice nodded she hurried towards Jon's room, she was nervous but at least she was doing something, she could not help herself but stop by one of the potted plants that stood on a small table right as you got up the stairs to the second floor though, the plant was sickly and barely alive Beatrice smiles she pick her small pocket knife out of her bag and open the blade part, quickly she make a small cut on her palm, wincing a little as she do so and then she let her blood drip onto the plant as she saw it's life energies strengthen, how it's life that was a part of all life glowed and grew, Beatrice drew little symbols on the plant's leaves and gave a joyful giggle as the plant begun to heal and grow, the leaves going from a sad yellow to vibrant green, pink flowers and few buds springing out all over the now green, healthy plant. The young blood mage enjoyed the rush of feeling how the Quintessence if her own system interacted with that of the plant, feeling how her will and blood changed the flow of the life blood of the universe, until the rote was complete and the plant again was well and healthy. Beatrice smiles, she felt allot better after feeling her magick, oh how she did not want to loose this ability, but at least for now she still had it, now all she had to do was fight for it, fight to stay a mage...even if she probably should not. Full of fear and inner turmoil Beatrice left the healed plant, but she looked far better than before she did her rote, quickly she hurried down the hall to Jon's room and knocked on the door.
"Jon..are you in there? it is Beatrice."
The young Verbena called out to the Virtual Adept.

As the Cabal walk over to the door to Chief Morgan's office the door open and Jeffry escort a tall woman with blue eyes and dark blond hair out.
"Thank you for coming to me with this Miss Simpson, you where right it is something I would like to know about, do take care on your way back now, and if you see this person again, could you please call me immediately?"
The old Hermetic politely said to the woman as she shook his hand and gave him a bow of respect before turning to leave.

Most of you do not know Jeffry's visitor but Richard do, you know her name is Monica Simpson and she is a Orphan Disciple that live over at Chantry Riverside, you have briefly met her when you have visited your mentor there, you think the woman works at a hairdresser salon over at one of the local malls. Monica give you a polite nod and a smile Richard and say.
"Good afternoon."
Before she continue to head to the door.

Chief Morgan see the Cabal and indicates that they should accompany him into his office.
"So you are back, how did it go?"
The old Hermetic said as he sat down in his chair behind his old desk, assuming one of the younger mages would close the door to the office behind them.
"Did you secure us the second degrees, ehm, hedge wizards we need?"
Morgan said, correcting himself to the more common term of hedge wizard, after all that was what the other Traditionalists would know them as, though for a Hermetic it was all of them, the non Hermetic who where hedge wizards and the non Awakened magi of the Order where merely lower on the social raking system, but still soldalis.

Colin immediately assumed Adley's left flank, walking just behind and to the side. Leaning in, he whispered just low enough for Adley to hear, "You are tense. It's not my place to pry, but is there something that bothers you about the agreement you made?"

He looked to the left a bit at Colin and shook his head slightly, surprised that he wanted to even respond to his question or admit how upset he was. "I believe the negotiation we made went quite well. It was what came after it that bothers me." And what came before, as well.

He looked as if he wanted to say more but he looked back ahead instead, seeing someone new walk out of his mentor's office. Something else, then...he looked at his mentor with the question in his eyes but he simply walked towards the office as was indicated and waited for everyone else before shutting the door behind them.

"So you are back, how did it go?" The old Hermetic said as he sat down in his chair behind his old desk, assuming one of the younger mages would close the door to the office behind them. "Did you secure us the second degrees, ehm, hedge wizards we need?"

Simple questions answered first. Start with the good news, such as it was. Adley remained standing as there were too many people in the office to all sit. Despite himself, he probably still looked as restless as he felt. "Yes; we were able to meet with the Deacon Alphonse Leopold Dupré Hermes bani Flambeau. Judge Vittoria Sofia D'Angelo Hermes bani Guernicus presided over the negotiation and Aurora Miletti second degree initiate of House Bonisagus and headmistress of that school was also present.

"The arrivals should be here within a few hours time. I thought it more prudent to have them meet here where we could put together a strategy for their rotation and a backup plan and then take them to the node if they require transportation. There is paperwork on its way here describing the details of the payment and terms, which was 9 drams of tass which I shall deliver this evening, 3 books copied for Lux Iternis and 2 copied for the Second Degree school at completion of the task for the employment of 5 Second Degree members. Due to the dangerous nature of the request, the Deacon also knows about the Nephandus that may still be at large and he requested our information about her to assist in tracking down and dealing with the threat."

The tiny office only had two chairs so two of you had to remain standing. Jeffry nodded to Adley's report, this was acceptable terms.
"Good, I will talk with the second degrees and set up a guard rotation with them when they arrive."
The old mage said, it was not exactly praise, he had not sent his apprentice expecting failure, Adley had not disappointed, he had fulfilled expectations to offer praise at such an accomplishment would just be telling the young mage that he had been expecting him to fail and was pleased that he had not.
"Now as for sharing information with them about the Nephandus, that I have no qualms with, nothing would please me more if they manage to get her of the street, I will have a copy made of the picture from the damned Nephandus' wallet that you handed me and also have someone copy the information Mr Sherman manage to get out of that telephone he is working on."
The old Hermetic said then he sigh.
"But I will not trust the capture of this Nephandus to someone else, if our allies get her then fine but I still want her whereabouts investigated and I want her taken alive for questioning, if there is a Labyrinth in this city, I want it cleansed...I might have some more information to add to that myself."
Jeffry said as he nodded towards the door.
"I presume you saw Miss Simpson leave my office, well she is a resident a Chantry Riverside and had an uncomfortable encounter with a female mage she had never met before, a female mage that came into her place of employment and offered her an alliance that would give her more respect than an Orphan in the Traditions would be getting. Miss Simpson felt that something was wrong about this encounter and came here to warm me about it, when I showed her the picture from the wallet she confirmed that it was the same woman...I fear gentlemen that if we do not have a Labyrinth in our city already, then we will soon for our dead Nephandus' mysterious flame seam to be trying to recruit others to her dark ways."
The old mage said then he added in a grumbling tone of voice.
"Luckily Miss Simpson are not discriminated against at her Chantry and just refused the offer, this is why the general mistreatment of Orphans need to stop, whatever or not they have found a Tradition to train them, they are mages like the rest of us and when one group get unjustly treated an Nephandus' or Technocrat's offer of the respect and recognition they do not receive from their own allies might start to sound tempting."
The security chief said then he sigh.
"But I am getting of topic, we are getting the guards we need, good that is one problem less, and the payment is fair, you can pick up the tass from our storage before you leave to deliver it Adley, and I will have the information our allies requested ready for you by then...however if a successful negotiation was the only thing that happened at Lux Itineris mea filius, then you would not look like a Hobgoblin had eaten all your vis and than shat all over your ritual equipment. I know you Adley you can hide your worry from others, but not from me, now spit it out, what other headaches do I have to deal with today?"
The war mage said as he looked at his apprentice and then at the other magi in the room with scrutinizing eyes.

Re: Pre game talking in character.

Even though he didn't say anything, Colin's presence made a difference. Adley was used to doing things on his own, for himself or others, carrying out his duties without relying on others. Although he could fight alongside others, this was a new experience to have someone standing by his side. It was true that if he'd gone on his own, this issue would not have come to light. But it was too late to wish he'd gone by himself; he'd been told to go with the cabal and so he had.

"Now as for sharing information with them about the Nephandus, that I have no qualms with, nothing would please me more if they manage to get her of the street, I will have a copy made of the picture from the damned Nephandus' wallet that you handed me and also have someone copy the information Mr Sherman manage to get out of that telephone he is working on." The old Hermetic said then he sigh. "But I will not trust the capture of this Nephandus to someone else, if our allies get her then fine but I still want her whereabouts investigated and I want her taken alive for questioning, if there is a Labyrinth in this city, I want it cleansed...I might have some more information to add to that myself."

"Yes, sir." It seemed like his mentor would rather bring her in himself, which was understandable. He listened to what had happened to the member of Riverside and wondered who else the Nephandus was trying to tempt. They could not afford another Nephandi enclave to spring up, not if they could stop it.

I know you Adley you can hide your worry from others, but not from me, now spit it out, what other headaches do I have to deal with today?" The war mage said as he looked at his apprentice and then at the other magi in the room with scrutinizing eyes.

Oh...hell. That was a colourful metaphor and likely apt to how he was feeling. If only he was as hard to read as he wished he was. Apparently he couldn't hide himself from Colin, either. Control. He needed to maintain control. He loosened his tongue, keeping his eyes on the man in front of him. "The Deacon and judge knew of Beatrice's...affliction." That he should have seen the possibility of and if it were the only news perhaps it might be bearable. "After the conclusion of our negotiation, she..." a small frown appeared on his face as he recalled her words. "The judge made threatening remarks to Beatrice, saying she would use her position to interpret the law so narrowly against her and without care to her position or renown as to bring her under suspicion and forfeit her staying order." It was clear that he didn't think this was correct behaviour by the tone of his voice but he no longer sounded as angry as he had earlier.

Jeffry sigh, his facial expression did not change much but one did not need to be a expert in Latin to know the words he muttered under his breath was not mean for the ears of fine ladies or small children.
"Damned it, well this is somewhat of a tricky situation then."
The old war mage said.
"I suspected they would know about Miss Alexander, it would not be hard for someone who visit Horizon on a regular basis to have heard about her case, I knew her name long before her mentor came to us requesting a place at Steelhaven...I did not expect a member of Lux Itineris much less the Senior Quaesitor herself to actually make a threat towards a member of our Chantry."
Jeffry made a bride with his fingers and tappet it against his thin, bowed nose.
"Had it been any other mage who had decided to let political position and prestige fly to the wind to get rid of a Fallen Avatar, then I would have applauded them, I am not going to hide that I think it is a mistake to show mercy to a Widderslainte, even to the few of them that do not show signs of evil in their current incarnation, if I had been on the Council of Nine I would have voted to Gilgul Miss Alexander, and made sure the ones who where given the grim task where competent and could do it as quickly as possibly...however I am thankfully not a Primus and the ones who are have spoken and spared the girl, for a Quaesitor to make such a threat is not acceptable, they are not supposed to take the law into their own hands, that invalidates our entire system of justice."
The old mage said and there where anger in his dark eyes.
"Furthermore, Miss Alexander, for whatever else she might be, is a member of this Chantry, I will not have members of my Chantry threatened and abused unpunished."
Chief Morgan's fist hit his desk with a loud bang, the Flambeau was very protective of the mages it was his job to keep safe.
"I will speak with Miss D'Angelo, however she is a tough old bird and the problem is that if this is a road she have decided to take, it might be hard to legally stop her before she make her move, and by then it might be to late for Miss Alexander."
The old war mage said then he sigh again.
"And speaking of Miss Alexander...how is she handling this threat, most mages would be scared of of their wits if someone threatened them with...that ritual, and our young Verbena friend is not the most emotionally controlled to begin with, do I have to worry about her state of mind, the last thing I need is a hysterical Verbena in the Chantry."
Chief Morgan say then he mutter to himself.
"Make that two hysterical Verbena for Master Amadeus will not take this news well either."
The old mage said then he gave a half smile to the gathered Cabal.
"Never a dull moment eh."

Colin inclined his head slightly, "My apologies for aggravating your headache, Sir, but I may have, ah, had Miss Alexander retrieve Master Amadeus to discuss this very issue - my rather immediate train of thought on the issue of Quaesitor D'Angelo's outburst seems to have been rather spot on in that you would not take kindly to threats against a Chantry member... Miss Alexander was so thoroughly distressed when we departed Lux Itineris that I was compelled to offer the idea of some manner of restraining order in response, and I fear she and her Mentor will be arriving in..."
Colin looked at his watch and made a few calculations around the size of the Chantry and approximately where he might expect Amadeus to be at this hour, "...roughly two and a half minutes, trailing a frightened, young girl... or about a quarter of an hour if he composes himself first and walks. Should you decide take out your grievance over this addition to your headache, I should like you to keep in mind it was my idea, and not that of Mr. Roth Hicks or Miss Alexander."
He cleared his throat, "Also, it might be prudent to inform you I have an appointment with Deacon Dupré and a bottle of wine come Saturday, so it might be a wise precaution to leave me out of the legal defense planning, as a small precaution. I do not expect prying, of course; he seems to honorable and by the book for that, but if you prefer that added operational security, well..."

"Do not apologize Mr Wainwright, I will have to speak to Master Amadeus sooner or later, it might as well be sooner and I might be able to quell his temper to the point where he will not rush out and do something stupid. The Verbena are wonderful allies in the Ascension War, they are passionate, loyal and while the Order hate to admit it, their magick is damned effective, but they are also short slighted and Amadeus have no love for the Order."
Jeffry say then he sigh.
"Well over the last three years I have gotten some experience in dealing with ill tempered Verbena, it is fine. Now as for Master Dupré he is a honorable man, I do not think we would break the law himself and invade your mind Mr Wainwright, however caution never hurt."
The old Hermetic said then he mulled the Orphan's suggestion over in his head for a moment before he said.
"A restraining order as you put it would go under the punishment of Censure, which is our mildest form of punishment which can be all from an official reprimand to and order to refrain from something, in our society though such a thing can not be given preemptively, Miss D'Angelo have not yet committed any crime. Now I would need to know her threat word for word, but from what have been indicated she is bending the lines of the law, not breaking them, that woman have been a Quaesitor for as long as there have been a Tribunal of mages here in Boston, she know our laws inside and out and know exactly where to put her foot and how far she can go...hum...which reminds me it is odd she would make such an threat, Vittoria is no fool, I would have thought she would have just sent her men to arrest Miss Alexander when she decided the time was right instead of tipping her hand...granted she have never been kind and she do hate the Nephandi...for good reasons..."
The old mage said that last part darkly.
"But a desire to terrorize Miss Alexander surly would not be enough for her to commit a tactical error, unless her words came with a plan, tell me, do any of you remember her exact words?"
Jeffry said as he looked at the younger magi.
"I will need to know them to know how close to breaking the law she have threatened to go and also to get any idea of her possible intention behind uttering them."

Please, just Tane. It's good to see you, Ms Hildegaard. The Man said with a gentle tone, but strong accent.
Tane was wearing a brown suit jacket, blue work jeans, black leather shoes and a plain black shirt.
Well, i think i will change that of being unaligned. I think it's good to have some others to share things with, and i have seen enough now to be sure it's a safe and respectable chantry. So i think we'll be making our aquaitances more often.

Colin thought back for a moment.
"Access to a trustworthy Mage able to extract memories from a mind would be more precise, but the threat - the most important part, after the statement she'd be willing to risk her position over any technical violation of the Protocols - was 'The terms of your release also say that if you come under strong suspicion of a major crime the stay is forfeit, do rest assured that if there is anything I can suspect you of, anything, I will have six Masters of what we call the Sphere of Spirit ready to end the threat you represent long before your name can be cleared.' - a clear and direct threat, in my opinion displaying an extreme level of personal bias and prejudice incompatible with the proper execution of her office. In fact, even Deacon Dupré seemed taken aback at the outburst."

"That would be nice Mr...Tane."
Hildegaard said and smiles.
"Why don't you come inside and we can discuss your potential membership with one of our Deacons as the decision is in their hands, not mine."
The old woman said as she indicated the door with a slender hand.
"Joining a Chantry is always a wise choice, it is far less likely for our enemies to attack twenty willworkers than one."
The Chorister said as she begun to lead the younger mage into the Chantry.
"Our Deacon Primus George Steelhaven is preparing to leave us to hopefully become a Postulant, so most practical matters now a days is dealt with by the man he have chosen as his successor, Narim Sharaya of the Virtual Adepts, why don't I take you to see Master Sharaya Mr...ehm Tane?"
Hildegaard asks as she lead her apprentice by the hand and indicate that Tane should follow her.
"So what brings you to Boston Tane?"
The old woman asks as she lead the Dreamspeaker into the Chantry.

Jeffry Morgan looks at Colin he did not look to pleased.
"Hum...well yes I could have someone read one of your memories, but I try to avoid such invasive measures unless absolutely necessary. What Miss D'Angelo have said is indeed what you report though Mr Wainwright, I would indeed say she is stepping outside of her authority...however not so far as it will be easy to get her removed from her position as Quaesitor or stop her plan, if she make an accusation against Miss Alexander we have to let her arrest the girl, I might be able to arrange it so that we can take Miss Alexander into custody at this Chantry, which might be more comfortable for her, but if a Quaesitor accuse her of a crime...arrangements have to be made for her punishment to be performed...and it will be done unless her name can be cleared before the deed is done."
The old Hermetic said.
"Which mean if one is going to protect Miss Alexander it is needed to discredit Miss D'Angelo either before she make her move...or after but before...Miss Alexander is no longer a Verbena, but doing so and not creating a political nightmare between our two Chantries...that will not be easy."
Jeffry leaned back in his chair.
"I do not like anyone making threats against a member of our Chantry...now I think the best thing is to Gilgul Miss Alexander to get rid of the danger she poses, however I do not agree with breaking the law to do so, like it or not she is a full member of the Traditions and this Chantry and shall be treated accordingly...I will try to help her...but Miss Alexander have to be prepared for it...possibly not ending well, D'Angelo will get allot of support for this move, there are many who will see a Fallen Avatar as a big enough threat to be worth bending the rules to get rid of."

Colin nodded, "Quite, which is why I proposed some manner of recording - it would not be sufficient to clear Miss Alexander of suspicion on its own, but it might suffice to delay execution, as it were, by showing her accuser has displayed a willingness to disregard protocol and evidence. I... am willing to submit to this extrication, however unpleasant it might be. A Fallen Avatar is an undeniable threat, certainly, but if high-ranking Chantry members start ignoring protocol and legal decisions like this, how is that any better, or even different, from the actions of the Fallen?"
He narrowed his eyes a bit. "I would like nothing more than to see Miss Alexander rise to greatness; to overcome her, ah, unfortunate predisposition. I am still prepared to do anything necessary should I observe her faltering. But what Quaesitor D'Angelo did was simply improper and inappropriate."

The old mage nodded
"If you are willing to have the exact wording read out of your mind Mr Wainwright it might as you say give some pause in the proceeding. I will speak with the Deacon Primus about it as you know he is of House Guernicus, and while he gave up the title of Quaesitor long ago, still information attained by one one of his rotes would hold much weight and credibility and I would trust George Steelhaven with my life, he will not scry any information from your mind that he have not been given consent to look at, he is a honorable man."
Jeffry said and he nods.
"I agree, what bothers me here is not so much someone trying to find a way to snare Miss Alexander's Avatar, I wish the girl no ill and seeing that ritual done to one so innocent and almost...childlike will break my old heart, but she is what she is. What however I do oppose is an old mage of power and prestige misusing their position to have their way, and especially when that mage is a Quaesitor, that is not acceptable, no I would much rather treat Miss Alexander kindly in the hope that she will one day choose to redeem herself by accepting the rite willingly, and in either case I am not willing to break to law to attack another member of the Traditions, no matter what they are."
The Security Chief narrowed his eyes as he regarded Colin.
"I would be quite careful in comparing a Hermetic Enforcer's actions to that of the Nephandi though Mr Wainwright, Miss D'Angelo might have acted dishonorably but she is still a member of my Tradition and her Chantry are still our allies."
The old mage's gaze softened and he sigh.
"I have yet to hear of a Fallen Avatar being cleansed, nothing would please me more than if Miss Alexander managed this feat...but I doubt it is possible, and there is little you can do young man if she falter other than taking her life...which would only free her corrupted Avatar to live in a host that might be less resistant to it's ways. No Gilgul is her only redemption, but it is also a horror beyond compare and for that reason our laws is strict when it comes to the use of that rite, and the Council of Nine saw fit to spare Miss Alexander, now one can agree or disagree with that judgment, but we all still have to follow the law, and rather hope she will one day get the courage to willingly ask for what must be done."

Colin inclined his head slightly to the side.
"I must ask forgiveness for using an admittedly harsh piece of hyperbole, and I would not accuse the honored Quaesitor of Falling - but I fear I might not be the only one to think in such directions. And you have my word, should Miss Alexander falter, I will do everything in my power to ensure she is brought in as unharmed as possible - and I hope it won't come to that, acknowledging the high likelihood that it eventually will."

Jeffry considered Colin for a moment then after a while he say.
"I believe you have the dedication to do as you say young man, not many will have the strength of will to deliver a comrade to such a fate, or off course it could be...and I hope you excuse me if I sound arrogant...that you as an Orphan do not know exactly what faces Miss Alexander, but yes in either case I do hope the time will never come where you have to prove your conviction Mr Wainwright, I am reassured by your willingness to do so though and I am also quite sure my apprentice and possibly other members of your Cabal will aid you should it be be necessary and yes most likely it eventually will."
The old mage said and nodded approvingly to Colin.
"Now as for Quaesitor D'Angelo I doubt many would see her actions as...Nephandi like, but many will see them as unacceptable, but I fear, not many enough to outweigh those that see it as a necessary evil...but I might be able to start to see what political pressure can be put on her to make her drop her scheme."

Yes, please. I'd like to know what will i need to be accepted. He imagined the woman was leaving, but it looked like they simply knew someone was comming. He was ok with that, although it was a bit weird.
Oh, but security is the last of my concerns. I'm more interested in simply sharing research. If someone could help him hunt down this Fomorian was a local chantry.
What's a Postulant? He knew just barely the rudiments of the traditions since he studied alone with master Kunyak and the Kope Loai had no ranks.

When she asked, Tane thought a little before answering. I came hunting. Like a shark smelling diseased blood. I'm hunting a Fomorian.

"Well for the most part we will need to know about you, and why you wish to live here, and then off course you will have to prove that you can also be of use to us."
The older mage said as she lead Tane into the building itself and up a set of stairs.
"Well we do value security Tane...but we are also a fairly open Chantry, we do not want to feel like we are living in a fortress in the middle of a war, even if that is exactly what we are doing, we like to lie to ourselves with a comfortable illusion of normality."
Hildegaard said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.
"Sharing research though will be welcome, after all this is far more of a research Chantry than one dedicated to war."
The old Chorister stopped to regard the younger mage.
"A Postulat is the apprentice of an Oracle, some of our finest Masters go out into the Umbra to seek them out, the Oracles, some come back having failed, some come back changed men and women and will not speak of their experiences and most who go out into the Umbra seeking to become Postulants and perhaps Oracles themselves one day...are never seen or heard from again..."

Hildegaard stood when Tane mentioned a Formori.
"Ah...I have heard of them...foul beings, they say they often run with the Nephandi, well I am sure we at least can do what we can to help you in your hint if you indeed are trying to kill such a creature, that is a noble endeavor."
The Chorister said then she added.
"And you think this foul being is here, in Boston?"

Adley listened to the exchange between Colin and his mentor for several minutes without saying anything. He'd been surprised to find that Colin would take the blame for his idea of bringing everyone together, considering that he had not said anything to stop him or made any remark otherwise and was again surprised when he offered to exclude himself from the rest of the legal considerations. His opinion of him continued to improve with everything that he said...well, almost everything. Calling a member of his Tradition no better than a Nephandi was not likely to go over well, though he too thought that those that judged should be held them to the highest standards. But it was true that one could do evil and not be corrupted from Nephandic taint. As the discussion continued he found it easier to focus; perhaps a political disaster could be averted, at least for the moment.

Eventually, he spoke. He was a private person but if he would ever see Beatrice make the sacrifice that may be her only salvation, then he would have to be prepared to do the same.  "If it is necessary to corroborate Mr Wainwright's testimony before the Deacon Primus, I offer my own memories of the events that transpired as well."

Well, i only wished to study here, not live. I'm living in the docks with a friend of mine. We came from New Zealand together. he said. He was sure Coawa would kill him for leaving him alone, specially when he was adapting to the new life over the waves.
I didn't say i don't value safety, i'm just not looking for it here. I feel safe, but i need people i can talk franklly with. I need to learn, and i need to train.

Tane looke at her and nodded. They'd have to stop fooling themselves, because we were loosing. They were only weakening themselves until the end comes.
His song is tainted and cacophonic, it's a black spot in the face of the world, but it leaves a trace. I've been follow him closely since he left New Zealand.

Re: Pre game talking in character.

Jeffry looked at his apprentice, he knew what it cost the private, reserved young man to make such a offer and he allowed himself one small, proud smile over his apprentice before his features went beck to their usual stern look and he nodded.
"Thank you mea filius, I will make the arraignments with Master Steelhaven, it will help in providing legal backing for any action taken to stop Miss D'Angolo's plan."
The old Hermetic leaned back a little and nodded, yes his apprentice had grown into a fine young mage, not to mention the support of this Cabal might just be the good influence young Beatrice would need to eventually be willing to make the sacrifice that lay ahead of her, to walk to it with her head held high knowing she did the best thing she could for Ascension, and not being dragged to it kicking and screaming.

The Security Chief looked at Richard and was about to make an answer to his remark when the room sort of exploded in angry Verbena, the door swung open and there was Amadeus with a nervous, skittish Beatrice in tow. Master Amadeus Nassa was a tall man, even taller than Jeffry himself though he was somewhat more slender in form, his face was sharp with high cheekbones, a thin chin, thin lips and large sky blue eyes. Once Nassa's hair had been pale blond but now it was mostly gray and hung in a slightly wavy mass to his waist and allowed to hang free making him look like an old hippie, a impression that was strengthened by the simple jeans and long, plain, white tunic he wore, over this he had a symbol in silver hanging around his neck and several large, silver rings on each long fingered hand.
"Vittoria D'Angeolo have no right to do this Jeffry, my apprentice have not done anything wrong, furthermore after what she have been through frightening her like this is just cruel, I will not stand for it, let us see if she will be as brazen facing me rather than some helpless Disciple."
The Mater Verbena said enraged as he navigated his way through the group of young mages to slap his hand onto the Security Chief's desk creating a bang from his and and a clank from his rings to give empathize to his words.
"Hello Amadeus."
Jeffry said calmly as if he was quite used to the elder Verbena's rages.
"Do not hello me Jeffry, what have you done to protect my apprentice in this, if you think I am silently going to sit by and let that pompous Hermetic bitch take her you you have another thing coming."
Amadeus said just as angry and Jeffry sigh.
"Calm down Amadeus please, I understand your anger and your passion to keep your apprentice safe however there is a right way to go about it, and a wrong way. I am going to go and speak with Quaesitor D'Angelo myself and ask for reason and if that do not work there are higher officer to offer complaints to, this is a delicate matter Master Nassa and it need to be handled with finesse but my all means if you think it will better serve the interests of your apprentice to march over to Lux Itineris to challenge D'Angelo to Cert...or what is it you Verbena do? Knife fights? Anyway challenging her to a duel I will not try to stop you but I assure you that not only would you be endangering our alliance with Lux Itineris but also sealing Miss Alexander's fate."
Jeffry Morgan said, if he was angry he did not show, and it was a somewhat bizarre situation where a member of House Flambeau had to be the calm voice of reason. Amadeus was not done though.
"And what would you do Jeffry? If it had been Adley's head on the chopping block? Would you have been so calm then."
This hit a nerve with the Security Chief and he slowly stood.
"If anyone threaten the life of Adley or Helena I would see this city burn before I let them lay one hand on my magickal children, however, if the right way to save them where politics and not a show of force yes I would calmly engage in politics, and yes if a Quaesitor came for Adley and all my legal attempts to save him failed I would see him arrested as none of us are above the law, and you will do the same Amadeus, this Chantry can not afford to loose another Deacon, when George leave for the Umbra it will be one fewer Master to protect and guide these young ones, and if you go in gun's blazing instead of sitting down on your nature loving ass and let me handle this the right way it will not be one mage going down, you will be arrested as well, possibly expelled from the tribunal or if you God forbid harmed D'Angelo you could be executed so you will work with me to exert political pressure but yes if things go wrong, you will allow the arrest or you put us all in danger, is that clear!"

The room had an almost electric feel as the two men who both where walking, talking weapons of mass destruction argued loudly, both Jeffry Morgan and Amadeus Nassa could probably destroy Boston with his magick if he opened up the full force of his powers onto the city, it would destroy them also due to Paradox but the city would be just as leveled, and while neither mage flung magick at one another at the moment, just being in the presence of their argument would feel somewhat terrifying.

Beatrice glanced into the office and gave her Cabal an apologetic smile.
"Sorry..."
She muttered about her mentor's outrage, the young Verbena looked a little better but she was still pale and drawn, she held up the Nephandus' phone and several printed out pages.
"Jon was nowhere to be found, but I found this in an envelope marked for us to take, it seam to be a print out of texts an information on the phone and some more notes I do not understand and here is the phone itself."
Beatrice told Adley who where the closest and handed him the material, she looked a bit nervous at her mentor's rage then glanced back to her Cabal.
"Ehm...should I come into the office?"

Hildegaard regarded Tane and nods.
"I see, well even so there are a price to pay to study here, knowledge is power, and if you where a member of this Chantry and allowed free access to our libraries and to study with us, you would still have to provide us with something to make it worth our hospitality."
The old mage said then she nodded.
"You may live where you wish off course Tane but a mage alone, is an easy target for the Technocracy and while I will not say to much about it, I will warn you that we have had an incident with the Nephandi as well, they do seam to be gaining power within Boston as we speak, a Chantry might be a safer place for you, and your friend might be safer as well, I do not know if this person is mundane, another mage or another type of Awakened but let me assure you that neither the Union nor the Fallen would think twice about putting him down right alongside of you if hey discover you."
The Chorister warned though her voice was hushed as she did so that her apprentice would not hear her and get scared, her face brightened when the younger mage spoke of songs though.
"I understand, yes I have heard such songs, dark twisted melodies, and they do need to be stopped."
She said when suddenly there was the sound of shouting voices and tempers running high from a downstairs room near the lobby and Hildegaard sigh.
"Ah do not worry about that, it is Amadeus Nassa blowing off steam and whenever he is upset he will be looking for the closet Hermetic to blame."
Little did Hildegaard know that this time though, a Hermetic actually was to blame for Amadeus Nassa's foul mood.

Colin glanced at his watch, then bowed slightly to Amadeus. "Two minutes, forty-seven. Good day, Master Amadeus. Ah, Chief Morgan, would this be an appropriate time for me to excuse myself to deliver a message to Master Steelhaven?"

Amadeus glanced at Colin when he spoke to her, but that did not stop his rage at Jeffry as he barely acknowledged the Orphan. The Security Chief nodded to Colin.
"Yes Mr Wainwright I think this is indeed a good time for you to excuse yourself and deliver a message to the Deacon Primus, also if you please would you inform him about our current situation with Miss Alexander and Master D'Angelo and ask him to do the rote to confirm D'Angelo's words on you and my son at his leisure when you see him...good day Mr Wainwright."
Jeffry Morgan said when he got a chance between two of Amadeus' rage filled outbursts.
