Adley:

"Soon," he echoed. Then after a moment, "My dance card is suddenly very, very full..." he said with a sigh, feeling the sensations of light retreating from the front of his consciousness. He felt better, though. Looking at Liv, he adjusted her blanket and waited for the others to return, debating calling home. He suddenly missed it and all the people there, very very much.

Liv slept soundly, she smiled a little in her sleep, she was exhausted but seamed to be otherwise fine for the danger she had been in. After a few moments the door opened and Francesca returned, she was balancing two large trays in her hands and where pushing the door open with her hips, the trays contained plates of food for herself, Freddy and you, the food being a beef stew and fresh bread and small bowls of dessert.
"I hope Colin and Richard can get their own food there is just so much I can carry at once."
The Euthanatos said as she entered the room careful not to drop anything.

Colin:

Colin gave Joakim a quick, deferential bow, and a slightly less deferential bow to Thomas, and waited for the apprentice to leave, "Well, the rescue mission was a sort of success... We did learn a few things that could have become significantly more dangerous under more critical circumstances. Er, let me start at the approximate beginning..."

Joakim raised an eyebrow at that but he nodded and sat down so Colin could tell him what had happened.
"It do seam like your group have a tendency to end up with unexpected complications Mr Wainwright."
He commented.

He took a deep breath, "We located the apartment belonging to miss Jerkins. It was essentially undefended; likely to avoid Union scrutiny, though the neighbourhood is... well, decaying. Be that as it may, we located some notes written by miss Jerkins, as well as her prisoner, a Molly Aydoǧan, of Chantry Umbra Gladii.

"Ah yes...I know the girl, she have been missing for a few weeks, we feared the worst, her mentor lives at this Chantry and have been beside herself with worry, I do hope Miss Aydoǧan is alright and was not injured by her captor?"

We opted for a sufficiently distant motel for a quick debriefing, to spare your safehouse. While there, we found that miss Aydoǧan turned out to be a widderslainte - so innocent of demeanor that that aspect had never been discovered before - and as she had essentially been grabbed off the street while on a shopping run, she had no knowledge of the current situation.

"A widderslainte? That Cultist girl but..."
The hedge wizard protested then his expression grew grim.
"I see that must be why she was kidnapped then."
He muttered.
"That is not good news."

Also, we discovered we were being observed; likely some mundane mortal henchman for the vampire boy Nicolai. We let him leave the area without incident and departed as quickly as circumstances would allow, but it appears Nicolai is aware of the cars used to visit his apartment earlier, and has some skill with divination. Not much ability, fortunately - I managed to, hm, scramble the resonance of the car and passengers; a neat little trick I'll have to formally describe for dissemination at some point - but I fear the Toyota and the Kia need to be kept under wraps for a few nights.

Joakim let out a long string of words in Latin that where not usually in the language curriculum books.
"Bloody vampires."
He muttered and that seamed to be a bit of a hot button for him.
"Well I am glad to see you back alive and well Mr Wainwright, I do hope the rest of your party is unharmed, and yes I will deal with the cars, thank you for the warning."

Additionally, you may want to prepare for a vampire attack if the little snot can manage to locate the cars again.

"He is more than welcome to try I would not mind ending his existence, his kind are oh so sensitive to fire, and the art of Ignem just happen to be a specialty of mine, I better increase security though just to be sure."
Joakim muttered.
"Most of his kind though are smart enough not to attack a Chantry full of mages, if they know what we are that is."

In any case, we managed to slip away to the Umbra for a few moments to hide from the pursuers after we threw off their tracking, and decided to send miss Aydoǧan back to her own chantry with an escort, which is why Mr. Terach did not return here with us. It seemed just wrong to put her in a cell next to her torturer, you know...

The old hedge wizard gave an approving nod to that but he said nothing.

Mr. Terach should presumably return in not too long; he's quite a swift runner along the Umbral pathways."

"Good, I will let our security be aware that one more from your party will be arriving back shortly Mr Wainwright."

He sighed, "And I ought to apologize to Madame Rose for letting her car be traced like that... That was unfortunate, to say the least."

"I am sure Mistress Rose will be understanding Mr Wainwright and she is quite the powerful magick user in her own right, I am sure she can handle the appropriate rotes and wards on her car to throw off such antics."
Joakim assured you.

He pondered, "That said, would it be permissible for me to borrow the use of a secure chamber for a small experiment? It would likely be somewhat... conflagratory, on a small scale."

"Yes by all means Mr Wainwright we have several ritual chambers in the basement, if you catch up with my apprentice after this meeting you can have him show you the way, pick one that is not in use and feel free to do your experiment as you please."

Colin grinned wryly, "Quite; getting insurance is starting to become a bigger problem than Paradox."
He shook his head, "Jokes aside, the girl is... well, as well and safe as could be. She had been force-fed tass of a most unpleasant nature, but she managed to process it to a less... horrid state."
He arched an eyebrow at the colorful language, "My goodness, Sir, did we perchance study the same textbooks? I'm sure most vampires won't come near Morningstar, but I'm afraid Nicolai is a bit... different. Especially seeing as we deprived him of his bride-to-be - he might be taking that a trifle... personally."
He nodded, "Thank you... There was the bag of tainted tass recovered from the earlier raid; might I have a dram of that back?"

Colin grinned wryly, "Quite; getting insurance is starting to become a bigger problem than Paradox."

Joakim gave a bit of a smile at that.

He shook his head, "Jokes aside, the girl is... well, as well and safe as could be. She had been force-fed tass of a most unpleasant nature, but she managed to process it to a less... horrid state."

"Well that is a mercy at least, though now her own allies are a grater danger to her than the Nephandi, her captor might not have seriously harmed the young lady, the Transitions though...as my old mentor always said, a wizard's spells is his life, death would have been a kinder fate for Miss Aydoǧan than being recovered with such a discovery."
The old hedge wizard said sadly then he sigh.
"But the law is the law I guess."

He arched an eyebrow at the colorful language, "My goodness, Sir, did we perchance study the same textbooks?

"Well Mr Wainwright sometimes a few...expressions of one's opinions of glorious news are needed."
Joakim said with a wry grin.

I'm sure most vampires won't come near Morningstar, but I'm afraid Nicolai is a bit... different. Especially seeing as we deprived him of his bride-to-be - he might be taking that a trifle... personally."

"Again he might wish to try, and to a mage out alone he might be a danger, but here, there is little he can do so let us hope he is stupid enough to attack this Chantry Mr Wainwright for then we will be rid of the little pest."

He nodded, "Thank you... There was the bag of tainted tass recovered from the earlier raid; might I have a dram of that back?"

"Certainly the bag is yours, I would prefer if you try not to spread any of it's corruption around the Chantry though it is such a chore to clean up and no one needs any Jhor around here."
Joakim said as he stood and walked over to a cabinet, he took out a box covered in symbols and removed the bag of tass from that and handed it to Colin.
"This box keeps it contained, take what drams you need for your experiment but be careful with the stuff, it really do get to your head and well everywhere else."

Colin nodded grimly, "As it stands, miss Aydoǧan's fate is a horror - I've seen what the punishment looks like - but I won't merely stand idly by... the Spirit of the Law, and the precedent of the Letter of it are not well aligned as far as widderslaintes are concerned. But this may change. It might take decades, even centuries to change the practice, but I believe it can be done eventually. Hopefully, in time to save miss Aydoǧan, though I harbour no illusions as to the likelihood of that..."
He sighed and took the bag, "Well, here's one possibly bright prospect, at least; if my theory is correct, I can fuel a spell with it without processing it through myself. Without being directly affected by it. Best case scenario, there will be no fallout to clean up from the ritual chamber, and I have the means to burn away this disgusting stuff safely. Second best case, there'll be some residual resonance, but nothing that can't be washed away, in a manner of speaking. Failing that... well, if I fail, all that should happen is that the tass remains inert, and I scoop it back in the bag with no ill effects. If I err, I shall make every precaution to do so on the side of caution."
He glanced toward the door, "The lad's name was Thomas, was it not?"

"That looks good," he said, though it being stew reminded him of Beatrice's dinner. "Thank you," he said, standing up to help her with the tray. He sat down again near the girl and pulled the bowl towards him, intent on eating it as soon as it cooled off enough to do so, like a runner waiting at the starting line for the gun. Eat when he could, sleep when he could. And unlike before, he was hungry now. "I suppose when Freddy returns I can tell you what we learned about the apprentice, if Colin is not back yet. Though he should be back soon." He eyed the dessert and picked that up and started eating it.

Colin:

Colin nodded grimly, "As it stands, miss Aydoǧan's fate is a horror - I've seen what the punishment looks like - but I won't merely stand idly by... the Spirit of the Law, and the precedent of the Letter of it are not well aligned as far as widderslaintes are concerned.

Joakim's eyes went dark.
"Is it is a horror...I have seen the result of the ritual when done by Technocracy methods in the young boy given to me to see if one who have suffered such a fate can learn static magic, and off course there is the sorrow of one turned into one of the Massasa, perhaps he was more fortunate than most in that he managed to flee before three days had gone by and the curse had gotten time to properly set, so the Song of Orpheus was successfully sung and he became human again, but what have been shattered can not be set together, yes such pain is not forgotten, that we of the Traditions willingly inflict such torment on another is a shame to our society."
The hedge wizard said sadly.
"Most widderslaintes are horrors, they are the children than murder their siblings in their beds and torture small animals, but it seams we destroy what we do not understand, even when the young Fallen have committed no crime, in the hallways of the collage Chantry of the Mercere there are little, broken children who have woken in the middle of the night to find strangers standing around their beds...children, and even they are the lucky ones, most of them are just abandoned by the Spirit Masters, abandoned to parents who have no idea of what have happened or how to help them...a shame indeed..."
The Security Chief said and sigh the topic clearly making him uncomfortable.

But this may change. It might take decades, even centuries to change the practice, but I believe it can be done eventually. Hopefully, in time to save miss Aydoǧan, though I harbour no illusions as to the likelihood of that..."

"We can hope that there is hope for the young Cultist but there is not much of that hope now is there...well in either case Mr Wainwright I do hope you are right that the practice will one day be changed, but I might not be as optimistic as you about that."

"Very well I will let you take the responsibility for this experiment then Mr Wainwright, though remember, if you make a mess of our ritual chambers, you will be cleaning it up."
The Hermetic second degree said as he leaned back in his chair.
"Do let me know how the whole thing turns out though, I find it most interesting."

He glanced toward the door, "The lad's name was Thomas, was it not?"

"Yes Thomas, a fine young man, he is delicate though so while I do not think those are topics you will discuss with an apprentice I still have to say it, the topic of vampires, the Nephandi and especially the likely fate of Miss Aydoǧan should not be mentioned for him, other than that feel free to ask for his assistance as you please Mr Wainwright."
Joakim said and offered the help of his apprentice like he might offer to lend Colin a book, it was clear he cared about the boy, but at the same time he was old, very old and Hermetics of that age, and some more modern ones as well tended to view apprentices as property so offering his aid to a guest was just common hospitality.

Adley:

"That looks good," he said, though it being stew reminded him of Beatrice's dinner. "Thank you," he said, standing up to help her with the tray.

"Thank you Adley."
Francesca said as the Hermetic took one of the trays from her hands, she closed the door and went over to the table and taking a bowl of stew herself she sat down.

"Ah yes, I am quite interested now to hear what you have found out."
The Euthanatos said as she took a spoonful of stew and blew on it to cool it down.
"I hope Colin gets back soon then so we can make a plan for what to do now."
She continued then she noticed the Hermetic starting with the caramel pudding with whipped cream, it was the home made stuff, creamy and rich tasting, and she raised and eyebrow and said jokingly.
"My my, eating dessert before dinner, where have the prim and proper Hermetic gone, what would Chief Morgan say."
She grinned mischievously.

"Me too," he said between mouthfuls. "We've got a few things to try to do as efficiently as we can. Find out about Abigail and whatever they're planning, then there's Martha..." He glanced up at Francesca and took another bite, with an expression on his face that the food was excellent and he was very hungry. "This prim and proper Hermetic has had difficulty finding time to take a shit, never mind letting his soup cool," he said, scooping up another bite. He was well aware that he was looking unkempt, scruffy and exhausted. "I think he'd understand..." he said in a more serious tone. "I can't rely on the fact there might be time to eat dinner. All those things I took for granted...I might as well enjoy dessert first." He shrugged. "And if they come back, we could request the Deaconess's assistant to bring us something, I don't think that would be overly rude."

Adley:

"Me too," he said between mouthfuls. "We've got a few things to try to do as efficiently as we can. Find out about Abigail and whatever they're planning, then there's Martha..."

"Yes indeed, then there is Martha, the situation around here is most puzzling, though perhaps if we can get to her she can tell us something useful."
Francesca said between mouthfuls of hot stew.
"As for Abigail, perhaps if we can get our prisoner to talk we can learn where we can find her, or at least more about what to expect from their plans."

He glanced up at Francesca and took another bite, with an expression on his face that the food was excellent and he was very hungry. "This prim and proper Hermetic has had difficulty finding time to take a shit, never mind letting his soup cool," he said, scooping up another bite. He was well aware that he was looking unkempt, scruffy and exhausted. "I think he'd understand..." he said in a more serious tone.

"Yeah things have been crazy..."
The Euthanatos said she sigh.
"I should be meditation on whatever or not I should be alive, but instead I am here, eating stew and waiting for news on whatever or not we have to torture a bloody Nephandus...yes I think your mentor would approve...I just wonder will any of us will manage to last until this whole mess is done."
She muttered and looked down into her food.

"I can't rely on the fact there might be time to eat dinner. All those things I took for granted...I might as well enjoy dessert first." He shrugged. "And if they come back, we could request the Deaconess's assistant to bring us something, I don't think that would be overly rude."

"You know what Mr not so prim and proper Hermetic, you are right...we do not know when we have to run off to fix another emergency, or when shit really will hit the fan and we will be dead, or in a Labyrinth's dungeon wishing we where dead, we might as well enjoy what we can while we have five minutes of peace."
She sat and put the bowl of stew down and picked up her own bowl of pudding and took a bite, closing her eyes to enjoy the taste.
"We should be allowed some, small pleasures before we end up casualties in this war."
She muttered.

About that time the door to the room opened and Freddy entered, she tossed a memory stick over to Adley.
"It is done, courtesy of Master Harris, now we can find out what Martha had to say that scared Tub Boy to the point where he would go to an ex Technocracy cyborg for help, do you want me to play the file now or wait for the others?"
She asked as walked into the room.
"Oh food, good I am starving."
She said as she saw the bowls of stew.

Colin:

Colin nodded, and gave a quick bow, "Thank you, Sir. I'll be seeing you shortly, then."

"Very well, good luck with your experiment Mr Wainwright."
Joakim said before you left his office.

Stepping out of the office, he glanced around for Thomas.

You find the boy just outside of the quickly filling cafeteria, he was glancing in with an uncertain look in his eyes, waiting for the worst of the crowd to settle down around tables before he went to get his dinner, looking nervous to be around to many people at once.

He nodded at that. He probably needed the food and five minutes of peace as equally as sleep, or nearly as much. He kept eating at pace until Freddy came back in. He looked up at her. "Good, thanks Freddy. Let's hear it now in case it turns out urgent." With the way he was putting away food, it looked as if he was ready to drop the bowl (preferably empty) to deal with it. He pushed the tray towards her so she could grab something to eat.

Adley:

"We have to," he said, with dogged determination.

"Yes...we have to."
Francesca said as well but she sounded less sure about it.

You have managed to clean your bowl, the stew was well made and filling and the dessert quite a a treat, Morningstar's chef was clearly good at their job. Freddy grabbed a bowl of food and plugged the memory stick into her tablet and tappet at the device a few times, soon the audio of a conversation played in the room.
"David...thank goodness I reached you, listen I do not have allot of time, the staff will stop me if they find me...please my apprentice...my son...if you are sent to Boston, refuse, run away, I do not care how, just do not go...only pain await you here..."
You hear a terrified sounding, tired female voice that spoke very quickly.
"Wait...Mentor is that you...thank the seven hells...where have you been the boss is livid...I have been so worried, tell me where you are and I will come and get you."
A young male voice said.
"No...no never come here...never...she sells widderslaintes...she sells us...no...stay away...there are no widderslaintes in this Labyrinth my son...none, they are all gone...do not come or the Italians will get you...please David never come to Boston, do not let the Italians get you...not the Italians..."
The woman hissed then she started sobbing pitifully, the boy tried to calm the woman down.
"Mentor please...what have happened, pull yourself together please, I will get you and I will fucking kill whoever hurt you, who are these Italians?"
He tried but Martha just sobbed.
"No...you can do nothing...save yourself, do not let yourself be sent to Boston..."
She repeated pleadingly.
"You are a important member of this Labyrinth mentor, a proud Eater of the Weak, there is no way I will leave you in trouble...now is someone holding you prisoner...mentor please..."
The boy pleaded with his mentor.
"I am a Eater of the Weak no longer apprentice...I am nothing, you can not save me, you are all I have left child...do not come to Boston...do not let her sell you to the Italians as well...not the Italians!"
Again the woman sobbed and now there where more voices on the line.
"Fuck the dumb bitch have gotten hold of a phone!"
A man shouted.
"Damn it, take it from her before she hurt herself with it, restrain her and...tap her spine again, no anesthesia...that will teach her to cause problems!"
A second man ordered and then Martha screamed as they apparently tackled her.
"Do not come to Boston! Do not come to Boston!"
She shouted as her apprentice shouted her name then one of the orderlies swore.
"Fuck she is not trying to kill herself...she is calling someone, they might have heard what I said you should do to her!"
He exclaimed and the other one swore as well.
"End the call...end the call!"
He demanded and just as David shouted.
"Let her go or I will cut your livers out and..."
The call was discontinued.

Freddy sat, her spoon full of stew paused halfway to her mouth.
"Damn it, I think I lost my appetite."
She muttered.
"I know she is a Nephandus but the way she is being treated...and the way those two spoke to one another, they sounded just like a mentor and apprentice in the Traditions might have..."
The Virtual Adept muttered. Francesca sigh and looked at the tablet now the sound had stopped.
"Who the hell are the Italians...why are a Nephandus afraid of Italians?"
She asked.

Colin:

Colin gave the boy a warm smile, "Ah, Thomas, was it? Your Mentor said I could ask you if you had the time to show me to the ritual chambers? I have a small experiment to perform, and would rather it be conducted in a secure room."

Thomas turned and gave Colin a polite bow.
"That is right Sir, that is my name."
She said then he nodded.
"I can show the way yes, if you will follow me."
He said and turned, he looked nervously at you before he begun to lead you away from the cafeteria.

He glanced inside and sniffed at the air, "After which I'll need to get something to eat, too... Oh, well, one thing at a time..."

"There will be food left, just as much as you want to eat Sir...when Mirri cooks, there is always just enough food for everyone, there are never leftovers unless they are needed for the next day's lunch, and no one go away from the dining room wishing they could have had a bit more...she always knows exactly the right amount to cook...always."
He said as he lead Colin towards the basement.

Adley listened to the whole thing, concentrating on everything he could hear in the background and then sat there a moment, the spoon still in his mouth. Then he dropped it into the bowl with a clatter and looked at the others. "That needs to get to my pater's ears as -securely- and as quickly as possible...maybe Narim and you can see to that? Shit." He sighed, looking off into a distance as he thought about it. "We know the Nephandi are experimenting on widderslainte," he said slowly. "Trying to find out why some 'aren't right,' as they'd put it. As for the Italians...we shall see. It seems that if we poke this the wrong way though it will end up poorly but I think time is ticking on her." If they could get Martha, though...get her to talk, then they would have more evidence.

He knew his pater had ideas about who, that Patrick Dale had seen the man. And that the D'Angelo name was, of course, Italian...that the Guernicus had come back in a state some while back and for that and for her seeing what she should not see, Nico lay battered senseless at home. Someone was going through great pains to ensure that all their bones were buried...

Colin:

"She is good at what she do Sir...and she is kind..."
The boy said as he lead you down to the basement and past one door, pretty similar to Steelhaven's layout with different sections for different uses it seamed. The boy lead you down one long corridor and then stopped in front of a door.
"It seams this ritual chamber is not in use Sir...do you require anything else?"
He asked politely.

Adley:

"That needs to get to my pater's ears as -securely- and as quickly as possible...maybe Narim and you can see to that? Shit."

"I can take the recording to him, I am Decuple of Correspondence, my grading rote was self teleportation, but I can not teleport others. Getting back to a well known place like my room at Steelhaven is about as easy as teleportation gets, which really is not that easy..."
Freddy said and sigh.
"It costs a bit of Dox but if it is important and is of some urgency then it is worth it."

He sighed, looking off into a distance as he thought about it.

"So it is a priority to get little miss lost Nephandus out of the nuthouse?"
Freddy asked then she looked puzzled.
"The Nephandi are experimenting with the Nephandi and some of them are not right?"
She asked.
"That is the first I hear about that."
The Virtual Adept looked frustrated.
"It seams the more we poke at this the deeper the rabbit hole gets."
She complained.

"I don't want to send you on a wild goose chase," he said to Freddy. "I could ask my mentor to send his imp, that might work," he said, scratching at his neck. "Wouldn't it be easier to teleport the message than yourself? Though I suppose security..." He looked at them and added, "I don't know how much use it will be to get her out...it might be too late already but maybe not. There might be something there, but if it's more than just her in there, it's going to take some organizing and we can't really handle that from here with this other shit to deal with." To Freddy he said, "It's not the first you've heard about widderslainte being 'not right,' if you stop and think of it from -their- admittedly screwed up perspective. But yes...it's a hydra. And like Colin said, we need to not just strike off the heads, but fuse them off, or we'll never get at at the basis of it."

Then almost as an aside, "Where's Colin anyway?" he said. "Need to figure out the deal with that Nephandus, we found her apprentice. Or, perhaps former apprentice should I say? Or maybe she knew what was going on...and let him go. Guess where he went?"

"I don't want to send you on a wild goose chase," he said to Freddy. "I could ask my mentor to send his imp, that might work," he said, scratching at his neck.

"Poodle? Yes that might work if he can transport something physical, or I can make the file pure data and one of my Traditionmates can translate it back once he returns with the information to them."
Freddy mushed.
"That might work, though I am willing to go myself as well."

"Wouldn't it be easier to teleport the message than yourself? Though I suppose security..."

"Much easier, but you said as securely as possible, the most secure way is if I take it myself and hand the memory stick to the Chief and ehm...show him how to use it, but yes I can just flick it over with little problem if that is secure enough for you."

He looked at them and added, "I don't know how much use it will be to get her out...it might be too late already but maybe not. There might be something there, but if it's more than just her in there, it's going to take some organizing and we can't really handle that from here with this other shit to deal with."

"Hum...well yes though she might have information we need, then again she might already be dead for all we know."
Francesca said and sigh.
"We could ask those back home to see if they could rescue a Nephandus in trouble...I bet they would love that."
She added with a wry smile.
"But off course we have limited time and resources so the question is how much do we stand to gain from getting a hold of this woman, and will she be in any condition to talk with us?"

To Freddy he said, "It's not the first you've heard about widderslainte being 'not right,' if you stop and think of it from -their- admittedly screwed up perspective. But yes...it's a hydra. And like Colin said, we need to not just strike off the heads, but fuse them off, or we'll never get at at the basis of it."

"Ah yes off course, Beatrice and other like her...from their perspective they must be...wrong in a way them not being psychotic serial killers from birth I mean...and your Cabalmate is the sweetest person you could imagine, I am still having problems grasping that she is actually Fallen so yes...I guess that would be wrong widderslaintes."
She said then she sigh.
"Yeah...the problem is right now it seams hacking at heads is all we can do."

Then almost as an aside, "Where's Colin anyway?" he said. "Need to figure out the deal with that Nephandus, we found her apprentice. Or, perhaps former apprentice should I say? Or maybe she knew what was going on...and let him go. Guess where he went?"

"If you say he went to Boston Adley seriously I will strangle you."
Freddy muttered though she added a little smile to show she was joking.
"Hum yes where is Colin indeed...should I go and see if I can find him?"
She offered.

Colin smiled to Thomas, "Thank you; if you could only point out the nearest broom cupboard, I shall be fine."

Stepping inside the ritual chamber, he quickly tore out a blank page and laid it on the floor, put on his Prime monocle and cast his analytical rote, and measured up a dram of tass onto the piece of paper, stepping back against the wall and aiming his ring at the tiny pile. "Testum ex sabulum malomagia!"

((OOC: Arete roll to create what basically amounts to a brief, free-hanging prime bolt/blade above the page from the tass, without having to touch it directly... 2, 8, 9. I'm gambling on that being enough to see if it works - this is a quick experiment and not a prolonged test of fine control, after all. If my time sense is correct, this would be about at the same time as Adley receives the recording from Freddy. Also, there should be enough clearance to avoid gukking up the whole room. Wink ))

Colin smiled to Thomas, "Thank you; if you could only point out the nearest broom cupboard, I shall be fine."

"That would be in the first hallways of the men's dormitories on the second floor Sir."
Thomas said and pointed towards the stairs.
"Is there anything I can get for you?"
He asked obviously used to be sent running errands.

The ritual room was square, towards one wall there where a solid wooden table, that could be used as an altar or work table, there where also a cupboard full of candle holders, chalk, white cloth and other basic ritual items, other than that there was nothing there, just a fairly large room with gray stone walls. You scrape a dram of tass from the stones that Molly had given you, basically to make it exactly a dram you just have to scrape a little bit of the stone and then the rest of it would be a dram.

You cast your rote and make the same flame as when you helped Chief Morgan with the Ball of Abysmal Flame, and yes the flame burns off the Tass without going through you, only the Quintessence from your own Avatar needed to form the rote go through you, Molly's own energy never touch you so yes you would say that from your quick test, it works.

(OOC: The same if you use Jodelle's corrupted tass just switch out the names of who made it, though if you use the Nephandi's tass then the flame with be dark and foul as if burning toxic waste while Molly's flame will just feel very destructive.)

Colin smiled, "Considering what I am about to try... you had best go get some food now, rather than lose your appetite."

Colin smiled grimly as the horrible little flame quickly flared out into the nothingness that seemed to have spawned it. Then he quickly scanned the room for any residual effects before carefully tying the little bag shut and pocketing it. "I have a weapon... Vulgar and disgusting, but I've turned a liability into a resource. Chief Morgan will like this."
He frowned, "Well, shit... I think I just volunteered myself for tass disposal duty on a permanent basis..."

Swiftly making sure there would be nothing left to displease Joakim, he made his way up to the dining hall to forage a meal before rejoining the others upstairs. Before leaving the dining hall, though, he looked around for Thomas or Joakim.

((OOC: Yeah, it was Jodelle's "pure" stuff Colin used - Molly's tass still has value as evidence. And that was disgusting and useful. Wink ))

Tane:

Friday:

More questions, Lily?

The girl shook her head.
"No not right now at least."

Saturday:

Riverside you say? Hmn... What do you know of them? I have here a little wounded Rokea that has been hurted by a tainted being, with silver. We're patching her up, but the thing killed many spirits that procteted her. If they have something to do with this.... Another dreamspeaker-... an angry dreamspeacker can be dangerous for a bunch of spirits, but not so much of a Rokea, although the silver can level things up...
All in all, she could have been

"What is a Rokea?"
Cita asked then she explained.
"Riverside is a Chantry in the city all I know is that they keep out of the politics of the city. Hum...where was these spirits killed? No I do not think the wounded woman hurt them, from what it sounds like her Avatar was hit by a splinter of a shattered spirit as she tried to get back into physical reality from the Umbra, that can happen, I have treated a few injuries like that and they are usually minor. If this happened where the spirits you spoke of was killed though that might be a place to start looking for this, as you say tainted being, as we can not have something that kills spirits running around Boston."
The Viritual Adept said firmly.

Colin:

Colin smiled, "Considering what I am about to try... you had best go get some food now, rather than lose your appetite."

The boy bowed as he excused himself.
"Very well then Sir."
He said as he turned to leave.
"Do not hesitate to find me again if you need more help from me."
He said before he headed up the stairs to get his dinner.

There where nothing there, well yes all magick to create a bit of Resonance but compared to all the other Resonances in the room, it had been used for the magick of countless mages after all, this was nothing to be concerned about, there was little or no trance there that your disposal rote had ever been cast.

Swiftly making sure there would be nothing left to displease Joakim, he made his way up to the dining hall to forage a meal before rejoining the others upstairs. Before leaving the dining hall, though, he looked around for Thomas or Joakim.

You get back up to the first floor and the dining hall, now the large room filled with small tables where filled with mages and hedge wizards and there was a strong smell of food and the buzz of conversation. You find the line by the counter that lead to the kitchen to be almost gone by the time you got there. Mirri filled a good helping of beef stew and fresh bread on a plate and added it, a bowl of caramel pudding and a cup of strong tea to your plate and smiled to you.
"I hope it will taste good Mr Wainwright."
She said, you see the girl with the rainbow hair you had seen in the hallways before is there and helping her with serving food the girl glanced as you and smiles then she go to help someone else with a second serving.

You find Thomas, he had just sat down, he is sitting next to another young man of about his own age, this boy had a haunted look in his eyes and you saw scars around his thing neck, the boys did not speak but it was clear they enjoyed one another's company. Thomas looks up and looks at Colin, it seamed the kid never smiled.
"Did you get everything you needed to do done Sir, do you need any more help?"

Colin gave Mirri a broad grin, "I'm certain it will; your skill seems impeccable, and I'm given to understand you already know I will eat exactly this serving, so... thank you, ma'am."
He gave the rainbow-haired girl a friendly nod and smiled to Thomas, "The experiment was a success. I am in a bit of a rush; would you kindly tell your Mentor next you see him that Wainwright succeeded, and can dispose of he-knows-what without any fallout? I would greatly appreciate it; I've got to rejoin my team."

He then made his way back to the room and gently tapped his foot against the door. "It's Colin; my hands are full, could someone please open the door?"

Colin gave Mirri a broad grin, "I'm certain it will; your skill seems impeccable, and I'm given to understand you already know I will eat exactly this serving, so... thank you, ma'am."

"Your compliments are most warming Mr Wainwright, and yes I do seam to be able to guess exactly how much a person want to eat, do not worry I am not scrying on you, it is just one of my little peculiarities. Well then please enjoy your dinner good Sir."
She said before she turned to hand out another bowl of caramel pudding to the person behind you in the dwindling line.

"Yes Sir I will tell my Mentor as soon as I see him."
Thomas said politely then he added.
"Enjoy your dinner Sir."
The other young boy offered Colin a polite bow as well though he said nothing.

He then made his way back to the room and gently tapped his foot against the door. "It's Colin; my hands are full, could someone please open the door?"

It was Freddy who opened the door, she gave the Orphan a bit of a stern look.
"There you are love, I was just about going to look for you."
She said then she smiles.
"I am glad you are back safe love."
She added, she looked better than before you left though she was still somewhat pale.
"Come in...Liv is sleeping though."
She said and moved out of the way so you could enter the small room.

"Much easier, but you said as securely as possible, the most secure way is if I take it myself and hand the memory stick to the Chief and ehm...show him how to use it, but yes I can just flick it over with little problem if that is secure enough for you."

"Alright, yes I did say as securely as possible, you're right," he said, looking thoughtful. "Listen, we shouldn't let this get out to just anyone. Our Chief of course is okay, but keep a tight lid in general."

"But off course we have limited time and resources so the question is how much do we stand to gain from getting a hold of this woman, and will she be in any condition to talk with us?"

"Only one way to find out, that I can think of and that's to go see."

"If you say he went to Boston Adley seriously I will strangle you." Freddy muttered though she added a little smile to show she was joking."Hum yes where is Colin indeed...should I go and see if I can find him?"

"He better not be. He said he'd meet us up here."

When Colin was let in, he looked at him and nodded, glancing at the food as if he was wondering about second helpings. "There you are, good you got some food. Freddy got that message if you want to hear it, it needs to get to our Chief. Securely and soon, if there's any chance to do anything about it, you'll see why. And then we should discuss Jodelle. Forgive me for volunteering you to go talk to her again but like I said, you got further than we did. Ah right, shit I wanted to check you three out..." he remembered.
